The ingredients needed to make Green Tomato Chutney:
- Take of green tomatoes.
- You need of apple.
- Get of red onion.
- You need of light brown sugar.
- Take of malt vinger.
- Take of salt.
- Prepare of ground garlic.
- Use of piece of ginger.
Steps to make Green Tomato Chutney:
- Chop tomatoes, red onion and apple.
- Add chopped vegetables to a large saucepan with vinegar, sugar, salt, garlic and ginger.
- Bring ingredients to the boil before reducing to a simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the chutney sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- Add sultanas and continue to simmer for 15 more minutes.
- Remove from the heat and allow to cool before serving.
You literally chop the ingredients up, put them in a pot and cook them together for an hour. It's also a great way to use up green tomatoes at the end of the season.
