The ingredients needed to make Green Tomato Chutney:

  1. Take of green tomatoes.
  2. You need of apple.
  3. Get of red onion.
  4. You need of light brown sugar.
  5. Take of malt vinger.
  6. Take of salt.
  7. Prepare of ground garlic.
  8. Use of piece of ginger.

Steps to make Green Tomato Chutney:

  1. Chop tomatoes, red onion and apple.
  2. Add chopped vegetables to a large saucepan with vinegar, sugar, salt, garlic and ginger.
  3. Bring ingredients to the boil before reducing to a simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the chutney sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  4. Add sultanas and continue to simmer for 15 more minutes.
  5. Remove from the heat and allow to cool before serving.

You literally chop the ingredients up, put them in a pot and cook them together for an hour. It's also a great way to use up green tomatoes at the end of the season.
